New Student Admissions

Introductory Visit

Please feel free to schedule an introductory visit to the school. This will give prospective parent(s) an opportunity to observe the program in progress and talk with a member of the admissions team about the Montessori philosophy and practices.

Application

At Brixham we work closely with families to ensure that our school is a good match for each applicant and his or her family.  To begin this process, completed applications should be received by the school no later than January 15th. Brixham Montessori Friends School will consider late applications on a case by case basis to meet the enrollment needs of the school.

Child Visit

Upon receipt of a completed application, the child will be invited to visit the school and meet with classroom teachers. These visits are scheduled during the months of January and February, and typically last half an hour for children entering the toddler or the primary (3-6) program. For children entering the elementary program, visits are scheduled during regular school hours and are designed to feel like a typical school day for the visiting child. The child visits allow classroom teachers an opportunity to observe the child in the program setting and discuss the child in more detail with the parent(s).

Admissions Decisions

Decisions regarding admissions will be made in March. Each applicant will be notified of the admission decision in writing. A child may be accepted into the program, not accepted into the program, or offered a place on a wait list. If a child is accepted into the program, a non-refundable tuition deposit of 10% will be required to secure a spot in the class.

Tuition Agreements

Children accepted into the program who have paid a tuition deposit must also return a signed tuition contract. Information regarding the various payment options and the tuition rates will be provided with the acceptance letter.

Admission Criteria

Decisions regarding admission will be made by the Admissions team in consultation with the classroom teachers.
