The Before & After School Care program at Brixham Montessori Friends School offers a flexible and nurturing extension of the school day for Primary and Elementary students.
Designed to support working families while maintaining continuity for children, this optional program provides a familiar, relaxed environment where children can unwind, connect with friends, and engage in meaningful activities.
Schedule & Enrollment Options
Before Care: 7:30–8:30 am
After Care: 3:00–5:00 pm
Care may be:
Contracted for the full year
Scheduled by the hour or half-hour
Used on an as-needed drop-in basis
Before and After Care typically takes place in the school library or on the playground, offering both indoor and outdoor options depending on the day and weather.
A Calm, Consistent Environment
Children enjoy a variety of age-appropriate activities, including:
Construction and imaginative play (Legos, trains, and building materials)
Reading and quiet time
Drawing, art, and simple craft projects
Outdoor play and movement
The same classroom expectations that guide the school day- respect for oneself, others, and the environment- remain consistent during Before & After Care. This continuity helps children feel secure, supported, and confident as they move through their day.
A Thoughtful Extension of the School Day
Before & After School Care is not a separate program, but an extension of Brixham’s values-based approach to education. Children are cared for by familiar adults in a community they know well-allowing them to transition smoothly between learning, play, and rest.
