Make a Gift to Brixham Montessori Friends School

Nurturing the whole child, inside the classroom and out in nature.

Brixham Montessori Friends School serves children ages 18 months through ten years (toddler through fourth grade) in thoughtfully prepared, mixed-age classrooms where students learn at their own pace. With small class sizes and low student-to-teacher ratios, our teachers provide individualized learning plans, one-on-one guidance, and personalized instruction that support each child’s unique developmental journey.

This intentional approach helps children build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning- foundations that extend far beyond the classroom.

At Brixham, the outdoors is not a break from learning, it is an extension of it. Across our wooded campus, children explore the natural world through every season- climbing trees, building forts, following winding paths, gathering acorns, and discovering alongside friends in an environment that sparks curiosity, wonder, and joy.

As Dr. Maria Montessori so beautifully reminded us:

“Whenever we touch the child, we touch love… Love, like that which we feel for the child, must exist potentially between man and man, because human unity does exist and there is no unity without love.”

Your gift helps ensure this kind of childhood- rooted in love, respect, and possibility- remains accessible to today’s students and future Brixham families.

Ways to Give

Donors may support Brixham Montessori by contributing to our Annual Fund or by funding specific projects and initiatives as needs arise throughout the school year.

Give to the 2025–2026 Annual Fund

The Annual Fund sustains the heart of the Brixham experience- supporting what children and teachers need most each day while advancing our mission to honor each child’s individuality, creativity, and intellectual potential.

This year, Annual Fund gifts support four essential priorities:

  • Tuition Assistance
Ensuring a Brixham education remains accessible to families from a wide range of financial circumstances.

  • Professional Development for Teachers and Staff Supporting ongoing learning, reflection, and growth so our educators can continue to offer thoughtful, responsive, and developmentally aligned Montessori experiences for children.

  • Classroom Supplies and Montessori Materials, ensuring well-prepared learning environments with high-quality materials that foster independence, concentration, creativity, and joyful discovery.

  • Specialty Programs in Art, Music, and Spanish, enriching the core Montessori curriculum and offering children meaningful opportunities for creative expression, cultural awareness, and hands-on learning beyond the classroom.

Each investment reflects our commitment to stewardship, sustainability, and the thoughtful preparation of learning environments, indoors and out, that nurture children’s independence and joy in learning.

Every gift to the Annual Fund makes a meaningful difference.
A gift to Brixham is a gift to childhood- one that honors curiosity, nurtures independence, and prepares children not just for school, but for life.

Fund-a-Need

As Brixham grows and evolves, certain projects emerge as timely priorities. Fund-a-Need gifts allow donors to support tangible initiatives and see the direct impact of their generosity on children’s daily experience.

Recent and current priorities include:

  • A new fence to enhance campus safety

  • A new boardwalk bordering the vernal pool to improve access and exploration

  • Outdoor classroom enhancements, trails, and gathering spaces

  • A fund to replace damaged or incomplete Montessori materials and furnishings

Current Fund-a-Need initiatives and giving opportunities are updated throughout the year.

A Community of Support

“Brixham is so much more than a school for our children—it feels like a home away from home. Rooted in Montessori values of respect and nurturing the whole child, it’s a place where children are encouraged to grow with confidence and curiosity. We’re grateful to support such a thoughtful and loving school.”
